About the venue
From their website “Bianca was made out of a desire to bring the captivating and enrapturing effervescence of a classic Italian trattoria to the hub and bub that is Brisbane’s, James Street. The food shall be focussed on perfecting simple, classic Italian dishes with a nod to the Australian climate and dining sphere, honouring fresh produce and seasonality. We will be working from the foundation up, creating our own pastas and breads, all in house. The wines work similarly; Italian in provenance or variety, they will serve to complement the dishes as they would in their traditional homes. Our staff are warm, gracious and cannot wait to welcome you into our home.”
The third unique and exciting restaurant in the venture (after sAme sAme and Agnes) comes Bianca Italian. It’s the peach coloured instalment that easily meets the high architectural expectations of other venues on James St and the Calile hotel overall. Soho Sound Design was approached to provide a complete digital package for this fantastic new venue. Our services included audio, lighting, control and ICT.
About the solution
As with the group’s previous venues, Meyer Sound was the preferred choice for the sound system design. Size, performance, operational and installation flexibility along with colour matching sets these products apart from the rest. Perhaps the most notable attribute of this project was the peach theme which runs through the whole venue. From ceilings, metal work, fridges, beer taps, cutlery and of course the loudspeakers. Due to limited space and requirements set by the architects, it was imperative that the loudspeakers seamlessly integrate into the room consuming as little space as possible. The MM-4XP loudspeakers are laterally placed around the main dining room and front bar on the suspended wine racks – mixed in with the bottles. The MM-10XP subwoofers are located under beach seats and cabinetry as well as integrated into bulkheads. The final result is a well integrated solution that delivers a high end audio experience for the patrons.
The central audio DSP is a BSS BLU-100 with a BLU-BOB for output expansion. RTI is the central control system which delivers iPad, iPhone and RTI touch panel interfaces for staff control. A full stack Cisco Meraki network provides a reliable platform for corporate and guest connectivity.
