Coming from a family of Italian heritage we were brought up to appreciate good food and most importantly, how to cook it! Whether it be the annual sauce and salami making with Nonno, or simply sharing a glass of wine with family and friends, we have always had a passion for Italian food and culture.
Over the past seven years we have brought fresh, authentic and true Italian cuisine and culture to the Gold Coast, importing select products from Italy to ensure this. We are extremely excited to bring the Gemelli handmade flavour to Brisbane, and share our passion for Italian food, wine and culture with James Street. Salute!”
About the solution
Soho Sound Design was engaged by the stakeholders of Gemelli to provide a complete AV and control package for their new Brisbane venue. Historically their projects never had a specialist AV company engaged. However with the move to James St and the sheer size of the two new rooms (Gemelli and Tano), it was time to get the AV and control right.
Our design included 32 loudspeakers from Meyer Sound. The main restaurant has laterally distributed MM-4XPs with MM-10XP subwoofers in or under the bench seating while the bar has the MM4s installed within coordinated service channels aiming directly down, the MM10s are installed in the bench seating. A single MM-4XP is installed above the permanent DJ location as a dedicated fold back speaker. The black finish of the loudspeakers nicely compliments the stained wood, green marble and mirror surfaces across both rooms. The final result is a very pleasant yet capable sound system that delivers a fantastic result for the restaurant and bar alike.
As part of the project Soho also managed the programming of the digital lighting system using a DALI enabled Dynalite network. This system with RTI in front offers the staff a simplified control experience that reduces management time guarantees consistent daily performance. Most daily system changes are automated which further ensures the venue always looks and sounds like the owners want.
Overall the end result is excellent and the owners and management alike are very pleased with their investment.
